Pricing Policy

The Role of RAAEY

RAAEY safeguards consumer rights by preventing monopolistic practices and overseeing compliance by water service providers.

Cost Recovery

The established tariffs must ensure adequate recovery of investment and operating costs for water services, as well as environmental and resource-related costs.

Tariffs for Vulnerable Groups

Water service providers should offer special tariffs for socially vulnerable groups, ensuring uninterrupted and equal access to water services for all citizens.

How Are Tariffs Determined?

Tariffs may vary by water service provider; however, in all cases, specific pricing and costing rules from the relevant legislation must be followed.

Water quality: What you need to know

Water quality:
What you need to know

The water supplied to consumers must comply with stringent quality standards established by applicable legislation.

Comprehensive analyses are conducted as part of the drinking water monitoring system, assessing both physicochemical and microbiological parameters to ensure that the water provided remains safe and of the highest quality.

Details of all the values and limits are included in Annex I of Government Gazette 3525 B/2023.

PARAMETER TABLE
Taste and Odor of Water

The water we consume must be safe and pose no risk to human health. RAAEY ensures that all standards and regulations designed to protect both consumers and the environment are fully observed.
While comprehensive testing is carried out, consumers can also make an initial assessment of the water quality by noting its sensory characteristics, such as taste, odor and turbidity.

Treatment

Did you know?

Did you know that the water in your home — whether it comes from your kitchen tap or your shower — has already undergone a series of treatment processes, the complexity of which depends on the source of the raw water? Modern drinking water quality standards ensure that the water you consume is clean, safe, and free from harmful substances, regardless of its origin.

Why does it need to be processed?

Raw water, entering the treatment plant, may contain:

  • Dissolved gases causing odor
  • Organic and inorganic debris (soil, leaves)
  • Suspended & colloidal solids
  • Disease-causing microorganisms

Drinking water treatment methods
